Senokot Product Information

For the relief of constipation and maintenance of bowel regularity. Conditions requiring high fibre regimen.

Directions

Adults: contents of 1 sachet morning and evening. Children 6-12 years: half to 1 level 5ml spoonful depending on size and age, morning and evening. If there has been no bowel movement after 3 days a doctor should be consulted.

Under 6 years: not recommended except on medical advice.

Fill glass with 150ml (1/4 pint) of cold water. Pour in the right amount of Senokot Hi Fibre. Stir well and drink straight away.

Do not exceed the stated dose.

Do not take without water. If you take too much drink plenty of water. If symptoms persist, consult your Doctor.

Ingredients

Orange flavoured granules containing: Ispaghula husk 3.5g.
Other ingredients: aspartame (E951), saccharin sodium sweeteners, potassium bicarbonate, *beta-carotene colour, sodium bicarbonate, polysorbate 80, silica colloidal anhydrous and citric acid.
*contains sucrose and soya oil.

Warnings

If laxatives are needed everyday or there is persistent abdominal pain consult your doctor.

Do not use Senokot Hi Fibre if:
ƒx you take a medicine that may cause constipation such as morphine or codeine
ƒx your Doctor has told you that you are suffering from a blockage of the bowel (intestinal obstruction or faecal impaction)
ƒx your Doctor has told you that you are suffering from muscle weakness of the bowel
ƒx you are allergic to any of the ingredients
ƒx your Doctor has told you that you have phenylketouria. This product contains an ingredient that is a source of phenylalanine
ƒx you are allergic to peanut or soya
ƒx you have an intolerance to certain sugars-contact your Doctor

Side Effects

Side effects are rare but should you experience any side effects report to your doctor or pharmacist. Some patients experience flatulence (wind) or bloating after first taking Senokot Hi Fibre. These effects lessen as you continue to take Senokot Hi Fibre. If these symptoms are particularly troublesome, try reducing the dose to just one sachet for a few days.

Do not use after the expiry date.
Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Above dosage, the pack will last 5 days.
